The office is open for appointments starting at 8 AM Monday through Friday. The office staff begins answering the phones by 7:30 on weekdays. We have extended hours several evenings a week until 7:00 pm.
We are open Saturday mornings for acute visits. The office staff begins answering the phones by 8AM to book appointments. Be sure to call early on Saturdays.
During those hours the office will be staffed by a nurse practitioner or physician, and a receptionist for the purpose of providing office visits for acutely ill children.
Non-urgent questions, prescription refills and referrals should be addressed during weekday office hours, when the appropriate staff is available.
To Reach the On-Call Physician
If you need to discuss an urgent manner after hours, the on-call provider (physician or nurse) can be reached by calling the office (978) 250-4081, and following the instructions. A member of our clinical staff is available seven days a week, including holidays. Any time you call our office after hours, the message will instruct you on how to reach the on-call provider. If you ever fail to receive a prompt return call (usually within twenty minutes), PLEASE CALL AGAIN. Electronic paging is not infallible!
Emergency Room Visits
If your child has an emergency that threatens life or limb, go directly to the Emergency Department at Lowell General Hospital, or your nearest emergency facility. If your child is seen at the Emergency Department, please call the office the next business day so that we can follow up appropriately.
Our triage nurse and patient educator, or one of our staff nurses is available by telephone during weekday hours. This service provides a contact for questions about your child, as well as assistance in coordinating care.
During weekend and holiday hours, we will be happy to answer any urgent questions. But all other routine matters, including non-urgent medical questions, referrals, billing issues, and routine prescription service, will be addressed during regular weekday hours.
